(Did you know volunteers are healthier people?)
Volunteers play a pivotal role here at Life Stream Australia. We rely on volunteers to enable our members to have fun and their carers to have respite. We are out and about every weekend and go on holidays in groups for weekends and longer periods. All of the volunteer costs for activities are paid for, so all you need to do is have fun too.
We currently have volunteers working in Brisbane, Noosa and Toowoomba.
You can find out what sort of Leisure Programs we offer here.
You can volunteer a little or a lot! We offer a totally flexible volunteer program where you tell us when and where you would like to volunteer.
WHAT SORT OF TRAINING YOU NEED TO DO
(It’s easy, everybody can do it.)
After you have come in for the initial interview, you will be required to attend a personalised 1:1 Life Stream Australia volunteer induction. It takes about 2 hours and is available outside of office hours. After you have received your Blue Card and attended induction you will be ready to volunteer.
Volunteers are required to attend a follow up Induction Refresher every 3 years.
WHAT DO VOLUNTEERS ACTUALLY DO?
(There’s paperwork as well.)
Volunteers provide the support required to our members to participate on the program activities they elect to attend. Responsibilities include;
- Taking up the option of driving a 12 seat bus (standard license required), or providing support to members while travelling in a vehicle.
- Assisting members – activities, food selection, transport, entry into various venues and social interaction.
- Provide “duty of care” to everybody on the program.
- Complete and maintain the required paperwork.
- Comply with Life Stream Australia policy and procedure.
- Life Stream Australia volunteers are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age.
